The following words are my opinion.
Lately I have been thinking about education and my education particularly and if it is worth the time sacrificed and obviously the money spent.
I have been fortunate enough to graduate with a B.S degree with no debts and understand that this is not the typical situation. As I am beginning my Masters degree this fall, I am now bombarded with extremely high tuition costs and fee’s.
The fact of the matter is this: the world is very Competitive. Which means, you have to prove yourself worthy.
I see my education as proving myself to the world. With my Masters degree and my future certificates ( CPA ) my future employers will know that I am going to be an asset to their company. Without my education, this competitive edge does not exist and I am less competitive.
You get out of your education what you put into it.
Anyone can go to class, not pay attention, turn in assignments and BS on the tests and get B’s and C’s. Those who value their experiences, take assignments seriously and truly apply yourself will get their monies worth from their education.
The point of the journey is not to arrive.
There is no reason to be in a hurry. Enjoy being a student because the time you have as a student will soon be over.
You do not grow until you get out of your comfort zone. This is a huge aspect of education and I would encourage students to look for opportunities to get in situations that are out of your comfort zone. I believe this will make your education more worthwhile.
Finish what you started
Don’t get frustrated and give up. Things will be hard, but it will be worth it when you tell yourself you made it through. No one wants a quitter.
